Exercise 2. Listen. Then talk with your friend: Hello, I’m (John). Hello, I’m (Anna). (TRACK 03 CD1)

Explain the activity. Play the recording. The students listen and repeat. Then students, in pairs, greet each other by saying: Hello, I’m (Tom). Go around the class monitoring and providing any necessary help.

AUDIOSCRIPT

Boy: Hello, I’m John.
Girl: Hello, I’m Anna.

Closing activity

Ask the students to choose one of their characters’ cutouts. Say a name, e.g. Erlina. The students with the corresponding cutout stand up and leave the class.
Encourage them to say goodbye as they leave.
